New Year's Eve soba noodle年越し蕎麦

It is Japanese tradition to have a bowl of soba noodle at the end of the year to have a healthy new year.
年越し蕎麦です。

Cassie隣のジル先生とこの愛猫キャシー＆ポリー

風邪が治った栗栖は、お隣のジル先生が飼っている猫2匹のお食事当番を務めました。スーキーはよく庭のフェンス越しにフーなんつって喧嘩を売っていました。困ったにゃんでした。
Cassie and Polly live right next door (opposite side to the house Suki and Simba used to live) but they are very shy girls unlike Suki who often invated their garden and threatened them.

We are asked to feed them for Saturday and Sunday but Polly is only interested in food.
Cassie has started to let me gently stroke her but has no intention to play with the cat toy I brought.

Christmas flu

Poor Chris suffering from cold but is slowly recovering in his white pyjamas and green bath robe resting after Christmas breakfast of Tonkotsu ramen noodle and a tiny Soba-Manju tea cake.

風邪ひき栗栖、白パジャマ＋バスローブで一時休憩。
クリスマスイブのミッドナイト礼拝は欠席。愚妻は賛美歌のソロを歌わされ、侍者も勤めて頑張りましたが、ソロの途中で息切れ。次回は肺活量不足問題対策を何とかするぞと誓って帰宅しました。

Totally unheard of yet it was yummy enough menu for a poorly-feeling patient who could not attend the midnight mass when his beloved wife was forced to do the solo of Once in royal David's city and embarrassed the good congregation again.
鼻声で咳も止まらない、頭痛もひどくて横になってるより座っている方が楽、という栗栖。でも食欲はあって、なんとクリスマスの朝食はプレゼントの山の中から選ばれたインスタントとんこつラーメン。しっかり食べてくれました。その後、ひたすら水分を摂取し、大人しくしていたため、頭痛もおさまったと言ってます。

今年はプレゼントの山を開けまくった後に写真を撮る事を思い出して、ツリーの下に並べた未開封状態の記録は残す事ができませんでした。

This year Father Fergus failed to find a young male Homo sapiens sapiens' arm to twist diplomatically and spiritually, so I have to do the solo of Once in royal David's city (again).

Personally I think this silly tradition should continue so that every year a boy will endure a traumatic experience for his character building' sake. And as an old female I should be left alone minding my own business (from this year serving at the altar staggering and making one error or another during the service inadvertently).

However, the regularly attending Sunday School kids tend to visit their grandparents far away during Christmas holidays so what can you do when Church of England expects every person to do his or her duty....

タイムズ紙猫ニュース

タイムズ紙がまたまた猫のニュースを報じました。
イングランド地方北西部カンブリア州のカーライルの車両基地に到着した貨物列車の下にあるすきまに、汚れた三毛猫がふるえている所を発見され、無事に保護されました。
この猫にゃんは、大きな音を立てて動き出した列車から降りるに降りれず、100マイル近く無賃乗車したと見られています（イングランド北東部のティーズサイド地方にあるビリンガム車両基地で車両のすきまに乗り込んで居眠りしてしまったまま、英国本土を東から西へ横断旅行してしまったようです）。
動物愛護団体アニマルズ・レフュージが引き取り、「飼い主さんを見つけるよう全力を尽くします」と約束していますが、「ティーズサイドの飼い猫が行方不明になったからって、カンブリアまで探しにくる飼い主さんはいませんよね」とコメントしています。

英公共放送BBCの子供向けニュース報道「ニュースラウンド」によると、鉄道関係者は、「ながいこと列車に乗ったままだったことは間違いありませんねー、発見当時に凄くブルブル震えていましたから。（小さな隙間から）降りてくるように呼びかけてもなかなか応じてくれませんでしたが、やっと保護しました」と語っており、「車両基地はこの猫の話題でもちきり」とのことです。
